Better Time Management
Identify your distractions.
This is a very important part of time management. Let’s face it, we all have distractions that take us away from what we really need to get done. The best way to assure that distractions don’t affect your productivity is to identify them and come up with a solution to block them from distracting you away from your project(s). This can be as simple as turning off an instant messenger, turning off the television, or turning off the phone.
Set productivity goals for yourself.
If you want to have more content on your blog than you currently do, set a goal that tells you how many posts you need to write in a day. If you want to improve something or add something new, make up an outline of what needs to be done and choose a deadline to have it done by. Make sure it is realistic and work as hard as possible to meet your deadline. There is always something that can pop up and hold us back by a couple of days, don’t let this misguide you. All you need to do is work harder to try and overcome this road block.
Keep track of your progress.
In order to make sure that you are meeting your goals, you need to be knowledgeable about how long something is taking you and if your productivity rate is going to be good enough to meet or beat the deadline that you have set for yourself. If you work on multiple blogs or projects at once, you may find it easier to use a time management program such as FruitfulTime.
Reward yourself.
What’s fun about meeting goals if there isn’t something waiting for you in the end? Of course, completing a project in a timely manner will help you. It would be much easier to try and achieve your goals if something special is waiting for you in the end. This could be something as simple as going out to eat at a nice restaurant, having an extra day off, or going out somewhere nice with your family for the day. By having something extra to look forward to when you meet or beat your goals it will make it easier to stay motivated.
As you can see, by implementing a few simple techniques you can begin seeing major changes in your productivity. By using these tips, you will not only have a reason to stay motivated, you will definitely be able to reap great benefits. By managing your time wisely, you will also improve the quality of your blog(s).
