Blogging with images - Spice up!

Add some “flavor” to your blog posts by using images in them. Pictures sometimes explain a lot more than words and can be useful in demonstrating your point to your readers. By having images in your blog posts you are also giving your readers a pleasing visual effect rather than having just a bunch of text on your blog posts. This will definitely help you stand out as a blogger and will help boost the success of your blog.

One benefit that using images in your blog posts can have is catching the attention of your readers. A lot of readers that read regularly on blogs seem to scan the blog post looking for heading, sub-headings, images, etc. Readers do this to see if the blog post contains something that they want to know.

Images can help tell the story that you are trying to get across to your readers. The balance depends on how you are trying to go about telling the story. It can tell part of it or most of it depending on how you go about it. Each blogger forms their own balance between text and images to tweak it to fit perfectly with their blog post. Although perfection is not always achieved with each blog post, by tweaking the balance of words and pictures you will definitely be on the right track.

There are many ways that you can use to find images for your post. The first one that will be discussed is finding images that don’t have any copyright attached to them. Of course you can always use Google to find the images. A simpler solution would be go to a image website such as Stock Exchange where you can find free images that you can use.

Another option that you can use if you have a WordPress blog is using the Photo Dropper WordPress plug-in which will find Creative Common Licensed photos on Flickr. Once you find an image that you like, you can add it to your blog post. This is an easy way to get images included within your blog posts. In order to make sure that there isn’t any problem with using the Creative Common License, the attribution link is automatically added for you.

One thing that you should definitely have is an image manipulation software. One of the most commonly used programs is Adobe Photoshop. It does cost a little bit of money, but a lot of bloggers and website developers have found Photoshop to be worth it. If you don’t want to shell out any cash for this type of software you can always use Gimp. By having a software that allows you to manipulate images you can edit the images and do whatever you desire with them to customize them for your blog.

Images have become a very important part of blog posts. Many bloggers won’t add a blog post unless there is an image or video that they can include in the post. The effect that it has for your blog is definitely worth it. This is one way to show using creativity will be beneficial to your blog’s presence.
